Our Sunday in Pictures.

Sunday was absolutely glorious.  It could have been a little warmer, but the sun was out in full force and we were able to get in a picnic and a soccer game at the beach.  We had delicious food, fun bicycles, and even better friends. 

I wanted to get pictures of the delish western food that we found hidden in the basement of a local department store but I shoved it all down my throat before my hands could get my camera out.  Maybe next time... since there will be a next time.

Oh and P.S.
Master Sim informed us this morning that we passed our 2nd degree black belt tests!  w00t w00t.

Our Weekend. In Pictures.

This weekend the boy and I headed to Seoul for our good friend Corey's birthday.  We indulged in Mexican and Thai food, yummy adult beverages, a wee bit of shopping, a picnic and some quality time at the zoo.  I'm exhausted and have hapkido in the morning so I'll probably post only a few pictures tonight and follow up over the next few days.  Hope everyone's weekend was just as special.

P.S.  The weather was beautiful!  I swear it was 70 degrees when we got back into Pohang this evening.  Nice weather makes for a very happy Captain and Clark!

Sunday by the hour.

10 am.  The whole family woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed.  Well, Ares was at least. 
 

11 am.  We headed to our good friends Corey and Paul's casa (lemon poppy seed muffins in tow) to have ourselves a delicious brunch.  I've discovered while living in Korea that I really love brunching.  There's little to no breakfast food here in general, so it's always nice to have a little homemade brunch with friends.

12 pm.  Being that it was Sunday and a lazy day of rest; we let our food settle while watching The Green Mile.  I had trouble finding a matching pair of socks this morning.  I still find it strange that we were given a free pair of Obama socks when Chris bought a vest at a local store.  But hey, free socks!  Who wouldn't want free socks?

 1 pm. We headed out in search of something new.  We originally had planned to go bowling but realized it was too pretty of a day to spend indoors.  We found this big guy instead.  He is by far the biggest dog that I've seen in Korea.  Most people have a little teacup Maltese.  I prefer Chewbacca here. 

2 pm. We decided to walk around a part of town we hadn't really explored.  We kind of happened upon a docked Korean naval ship.  It just so happens that this ship is the sister ship to the Cheonan, the ship that was torpedoed last March.  46 crew members were killed.  Visitors are able to board the sister ship and take a look around at life as a Korean sailor.  There are also a few rooms dedicated to the lives that were lost when the Cheonan went down. 

 

3 pm. We found a nearby park and decided to take a little look around.  We ended up finding a great place for our next b.b. gun war and got a little exercise in between. 

4 pm.  Headed down to Jukdo Market to get supplies for our Sunday Roast.  I capitalize it because it's apparently very popular to have a "Sunday Roast" in England.  My family usually barbecues but I am not one to turn down a delicious Sunday Roast.  We ended up buying some fresh broccoli, strawberries, and mandarins.

 

4:30 pm.  Had to stop to get one of my favorite treats.  Fish shaped pastries filled with a warm cream.  Nommy nom nom.

5 pm. We headed back to Corey and Paul's only to discover that we were "knackered" (they're British).  We might've slipped into a mini-coma while Paul serenaded us with his musical talent. 

6 pm. We had a deeelicious Sunday Roast.  Corey prepared a fantastic chicken with roasted potatoes and steamed vegetables.  I don't even like steamed carrots and I gobbled mine up.  I think Sunday Roast is going to have to be a weekly thing.  Can you have a Sunday Roast any day of the week?

7 pm.  The boy and I head home after a quick stop at a local stationary store.  I pick up the newest book I've received and I cannot put it down.  You should probably go out and get it right now.  Well, after you finish the rest of this post. 

 

8 pm.  Love him.

9 pm.  Late night run for cat litter and Berninis. 

 

10 pm. Coffee, sparkling apple cider, cheesecake.

11 pm. You're looking at it ladies and gentlemen. 

Next comes sleep.  Or more of my book.  Hope everyone's Sunday was just as great!

Steppin' Out Sunday

Our weekend's been pretty relaxing.  We had originally planned to go up to Seoul for some New Years celebrations with our good friend Ryan Sheldon.  The bus schedule had other plans for us and we found ourselves stuck in good ol' Pohang.  I spent today hanging out with some a my favorite ladies.  We had coffee, ate lunch, did a fair amount of shopping, watched Harry Potter (again), and ended the day with some games at the arcade.  Here's what I wore...

We wanted to try out a new place for lunch and we decided that we had to go here.  If only because of the name.

And it wouldn't be the usual day out with the girls unless some shopping was involved.  Today we sought after warm hats since Korea is freeeezing.  Almost as cold as Kim Jong-Il's heart. 

Not a bad way to spend the weekend.  It was exactly what we needed as we haven't fully recovered from our whirlwind trip to the Philippines.  Now I'm going to kick back, relax, watch some CSI or NCIS reruns on the tele and prepare myself for another week with the kiddos.  Cheers!

My weekend in pictures.

Ahhh yes.  Very exciting, non?  This was the view that I've had for the past two days as I'm trying my hardest to recover from a sickness of death.  It's quite the bummer since we had awesome weekend plans.  It was our good friend Paul's birthday celebration and we had booked rooms at a traditional Korean house for the weekend.  I had been feeling pretty bad all week but thought that I was finally getting better.  I even woke up on Saturday and got dressed in my new Christmas "jumper" (i.e. "sweater" to us Americans).  We got all the way down to the bus station before I realized that it just wasn't going to happen.  I need to rest and recuperate before our Christmas getaway and I would've been the grumpy grape that brought everyone else down.  Bah humbug.

Not wanting to miss out entirely, I had a Polaroid picture taken of myself so that Chris could carry it around with him while he went off without me. 

I pretty much spent the entire weekend plopped on the couch watching reruns of America's Next Top Model, NCIS, and Harry Potter.  woop woop.  The only real upside to my weekend was that Ares kitten was quite the sweetheart.  He stayed by my side all weekend and slept in my pile of tissues.  Bless his little kitten heart. 

Chris was very good about keeping me updated and making sure I was alright.  He was also kind enough to take plenty of pictures and video so I could re-live the adventure with him.
